Events and Activities in the coming months

The Backwell Environment Trust organises several events each year aimed at encouraging visitors of all ages to come and enjoy different aspects of our beautiful woodland reserves. These events have typically included themed walks or hands-on learning experiences.

Keep an eye on this section for information on future events, once confirmed.  We hope you will come and enjoy these with us!

Backwell Hill Warren - 700th Anniversary

Sunday 10th June 2018

The warren in Jubilee Stone Wood was granted to Sir Richard Rodney on the 10th June 1318 by order of King Edward II.  To mark the 700th anniversary of the beginnings of the warren we will be holding a celebration at the Warrener's Cottage and explaining the archaeology of the area.  We have started to excavate the cottage and garden walls and hope to learn more about how the warrener lived and worked on Backwell Hill.

Come along and hear about the Warren and the excavations.  Refreshments will be served.

Moth Trapping

Summer/Autumn 2018

We hope to organise further moth trapping and identification events this year, so keep an eye on this page for details.
