Viv looks back at some of the other wildlife highlights during her butterfly and bird surveys this year.

Once in a while it is lovely to just sit as still as possible and wait and see what comes.

So far this year the weather  has chosen to be either super chilly or damp and overcast, with just the occasional day of sunshine.

It is a cold, grey morning at the start of our first winter bird transect survey.

Late October and early November have been rather quieter for birds.
